AMONG THE STARS
you were the first
to show me the stars
orange streaks
crossed the sky
what was that?
i asked full of wonder
those are meteors
you said full of pride
little did we know
what that night would mean
now i hope
you are among the stars
STARGAZING
i remember nights where we would have fires
outside in the pit by the lake
looking up at the sky
full of wonder and desires
stars visible and gazing on the pier
what is out there
we both would think
so far yet so near
father and daughter
learning together
little did he know
just how much he taught her
SEARCHING
“keep learning in school”
you’d always say
so i did
the earth
the moon
the stars
stuck out to me
caught my attention
thanks to you
lucky for me
it saved me later
when you left
i had a place to look
for you
up in the sky
past the atmosphere
past the moon
past the stars
i’ll keep learning for you
i’ll keep searching for you
one day i’ll find you out there
